" THE MODERN HONOLULU doesn’t resemble other Waikiki beach hotels, or even other Waikiki luxury hotels. Our design, extending to every room and suite, is a study in white, in sleek minimalism – a tableau that magnifies your views of the Pacific, the Waikiki skyline, the yacht harbor or our lush resort grounds, depending on your desire. The feel is organic luxury, as refined as it is relaxed: Natural light and the outside world filter in as you wish via gauzy fabric and teak louvers that slide over large-scale windows (many of our accommodations also feature private terraces). Varied woods and Terrazzo marble spa bathrooms complement the palette of whites, which washes over everything from lounge-like settees to upholstered headboards on beds blanketed in imported premium linens, offset by color-saturated iconic images of the Pacific. Every element is custom-designed for THE MODERN HONOLULU, making it one of the best hotels in Honolulu."
For this project, our hotel choice was chosen by a fellow classmate. We were given a design brief and rebranded the hotel with a new logo and business system. As the name suggests, I rebranded the hotel with a modern approach. An organic feel was also incorporated through the use of color along with the leaf motif used in the icon. This project was a two part assignment as later on in the curriculum we created an ad for the same hotel.
